Reversing Cameras

If you own a medium to large size motorhome or even a horse box, you will know that manoeuvring, parking and reversing it is not always straight forward. The chances are you paid a lot of money for your vehicle, so it really makes sense to protect it from damage caused by bumps and scrapes. What better way to improve your visibility whilst manoeuvring and reversing than to fit a reversing camera system?

We can fit your supplied camera systems or supply and fit a wide range of our systems, all of which come with a 12month warranty.

If you are unfamiliar with reversing cameras here are some different features which are available to you when considering purchasing a new system:

Single or Twin Camera

Single camera systems generally just allow the driver to see directly behind the vehicle. The slightly more expensive twin camera systems give the driver the option of switching between directly behind the vehicle and a view similar to what you would see in a rear view mirror.

Audio options

You are also able to purchase cameras with inbuilt microphones so you can easily hear external noise from within the cab.

Screen Sizes

Most screens come in either 5” or 7” options. Larger screens mean better visibility.

Wired and Wireless Systems

You have the option of choosing between a wired or a wireless reversing camera kit. Wireless systems are generally a lot cheaper to buy and a lot cheaper to install, due to the fact we do not have to run wiring from the rear to the front of the vehicle. However they can lack in picture quality and occasionally can suffer from interference. Although wired system are slightly more expensive to purchase and more expensive to install, they don’t suffer from interference and offer much better picture quality. We would always recommend choosing a wired kit.

Mounting Options

There are a few different options when it comes to mounting the display of your reversing camera kit. Generally there are two options, either dash mounted or rear view mirror mounted. Dash mounting either requires the display to be stuck or screwed to the dash. If removed this will leave either adhesive marks or screw holes on your dash. Rear view mirror displays allow the display to be clipped on to your rear view mirror, these can easily be removed.

We can fit reversing cameras from £130 plus the price of your chosen kit and any additional consumables that may be required.

We would always like you to book a free appointment first, so as we can have a look at your vehicle to discuss routing options of the wiring and to give you an accurate quote for the labour needed for the installation.
